March 2019 Professional Growth Plan Reflection: This year has been a huge in terms of my professional growth. I chose to keep my growth plan fairly simple this year, because I knew I would have so many new experiences. This year I focused on completing my Masters degree and modelling professional development as part of my instructional leadership role. I am currently finishing up a course in Educational Legal studies, and this has been very practical in my new role. I have explored the School Act, The Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the criminal code , the ATA Code of Conduct, and the TQS & LQS as well as many divisional administrative procedures and policies and how they relate to educational issues in Canada and Alberta. This has given me new insights and information to share with staff and has helped to guide my decision making this year. I have one more course to take in May/June before convocation in October 2019!

Staff and Students Professional Learning around FNMI Resources
This year, we have worked as a staff to increase the resources available in our learning commons with FNMI content, as well as to integrate these more into our teaching. Staff have also participated in PD related to FNMI content and pedagogy. We have been working with Sandra LaMouche as a resource to help us choose quality resources for our own PD and for use in the classroom. Sandra will be coming in to do a two day session with our students on hoop dancing, as well as a PD session on May 17 to showcase some new resources and websites we can use with our students.
